Your interiors need not fall victim to the financial crisis.

It's easy to feel downhearted with the continuing deluge of gloomy headlines which remind us that we're in the midst of harsh economic times. With no end in sight, many home lovers are holding back on larger scale projects as the property market continues to struggle.
However, even on today's budgets, true creativity will shine through. It's a good thing to think carefully about a project, to raid the loft for forgotten treasures that are simply in need of revamping and some TLC.

There is potential in literally everything you own. Use tester paint pots to create a stylish patchwork effect on your tired walls, paint old picture frames and re-cover old cushions. Also, simple visual tricks like re-arranging some furniture, changing a focal point from a TV to a fireplace - can all make a huge difference. You literally have nothing to lose by having a go.

Equally, if you're hell-bent on some shopping therapy but not wanting to dent your nest egg, there is now a huge choice of high street interior shopping with stores offering home ware; Primark, Zara, BHS to name but a few. This may seem like unfamiliar territory to some, especially if you are more accustomed to popping into Habitat for a quick and easy interior update, but it can be done with surprising results, and it will be cheaper. Happy redecorating!
