Brit Decor: White Fantasy / The Home Edit

Whether you think of all-white interior decor as white hot or ice cool, one thing for sure is that it's a timeless style choice that will keep on giving.

One of my personal favourites is a crisp brilliant white interior punctuated with jet black accents for some classic monochrome magic, closely followed by its slow-living 'cousin', an off-white palette where textures and layers dominate, but in an incredibly passive manner.

If you're itching to add a little warmth to an all-white palette without reaching for colour, the considered choice would be subtle blonde woods for some Nordic inspired warmth.

Alternatively a splash of concrete is great for creating some hardcore drama and will give a white scheme a minimalist 'edge', and this manmade material will also work well with wood.

For those luxe-lovers amongst us, a few carefully selected gold or brass accessories will immediately transport an all-white interior to another level!

Brit Decor: Sainsbury's Home / SS18

Shhh, keep a secret? When it comes to sourcing home accessories for interior design projects, I frequently head to my local Sainsbury's for home decor goodies. In fact, forget the 'hush-hush' - I'm all for openly sharing sources of on-trend products and value finds for our precious homes. My new-found admiration for the current design direction of this particular supermarket is down to its consistently on-point home accessory ranges, with the added bonus of value for money finds, leaving funds spare for those larger & more expensive items elsewhere.

I've also made no secret about the fact that I am no fan of the Winter months, which can at times feel like an endless cycle of cold and dark (although I'm improving my Hygge each year). However, there's no substitute for the feeling of new growth and energy associated with Spring time - cue the brand new Sainsbury's Home Spring/Summer 2018 launch.

Elegantly styled and categorised into themes, the key collections for next Spring are aptly named Riviera, Meadow, Palm House and, my favourite, Helsinki. With a cool grey palette carefully punctuated with yellow and navy accents, Helsinki delivers a slightly more sophisticated Scandinavian tone, illustrated with graphic patterns and a warmer, uplifting energy.

Definitely one for my buying list nest year!
