Brit Decor: Merry Mellow / How to channel calm decor this Christmas!

Time for me to 'fess up about Christmas 2016 - it's caught me woefully unaware, or maybe I ignored it on purpose? Either way, the Festive season is fast approaching and it's time to reach for those holiday decorations, new and old.

Having recently moved into our new home and now dealing with all of the associated problems that come with many renovation projects, such as an aged and decrepit heating system, old & breezy windows, and a genuine 1960s lemon yellow bath suite complete with black mould, I have been struggling to comprehend the notion of Christmas decor this year and how to rock the 'construction site chic' look in time for Santa's arrival?

This got me thinking about how pared-down and easy to assemble festive decor could translate into something really rather beautiful. With this in mind, I've collated some of my top picks of beautiful homes bedecked in subtle Christmas decorations with an emphasis on natural materials, uncomplicated colour palettes, the handmade, and a notable absence of Festive bling! After all - less is more, right?

How will you be decorating your home this season? I'd love to hear!
