Brit Decor: The Feature Wall Edit

Occasionally I'll encounter homeowners, who despite being in possession of a beautiful room scheme, are bewildered by a slightly lacklustre feel to a particular living space, but can't quite pinpoint what's missing. The solution can actually be pretty straightforward; create a focal point.

Whilst there are many ways in which we designers can channel attention to a specific point (or points) in a room, today I'm editing some of favourite feature wall picks.

This isn't to say that we should concentrate on 'glamming' up one wall only, whilst simultaneously neglecting the remaining walls, but by applying a few creative tricks to one area of a room we can create a show-stopping style statement, which can then be applied, in lesser volume, to an entire scheme, or remain as a standalone feature.

A carefully designed feature wall can easily become the talking point of a room, the bit that really shows your 'inner-you'!
