Brit Decor: Palette

Photography / Mike Ahern 1/ Darjeeling cushion £45 Mini Moderns 2/ Tea Towel £2.99 H&M

Yesterday I was casually perusing my photo collection for inspiration when the above image of some Venetian brickwork really jumped out at me. It's easy to identify similarities between the textured amber shades of this building and the burning autumnal palette currently all around so many of us at this beautiful time of year.

Despite the shorter, darker days it's difficult not to feel warmed to the heart by this selection of burning reds and oranges, so vibrant and uplifting. Isn't the way in which cool colour can create this type of effect so very cool!?

Not only does the Daze Bloom apron (1) from Lilly Loray have all the blazing autumnal colour ingredients, it also has a fantastic cheery pattern, which immediately put me in the mood for some more Brit Decor baking! Equally, the cerise Le Creuset Heart Casserole dish (2) from John Lewis really does have a heart warming appeal to it.

The Anglepoise lamp (3) in Seville Orange from Heals is so sleek and I love the combination of the orange and metal. This Darjeeling Bone China mug (4) from Mini Moderns has an eye-catching mid-twentieth century look and would be the perfect addition to a vintage-style kitchen or dining room. (5) the Vibrant five tier Red Ornament Christmas decoration from The Conran Shop is one of my favourites here, the colour is so vivid and paper decorations bring back many fond memories of Christmas' at my Grandparent's house. Finally, I'm a big fan of their paint range and this Harvest Orange emulsion from Mini Moderns just seemed too irresistible to miss and such an apt name for this time of year!

I hope you enjoy this selection - happy weekend!
